Jock Payten is the Founder and CEO of Nubian Square Investment Advisors LLC, a mission driven company focused on furthering wealth equity and inclusive economic growth by providing access to financial planning, investment management, and investment research services across the public and private markets to individuals, investment advisors, community non-profits, and foundations. Jock was previously the Interim Managing Director for the Ujima Fund of the Boston Ujima Project, where he focused on facilitating capital to businesses, through direct community engagement and democratic processes. He was also an equity research analyst at Eaton Vance, where he provided market analysis and investment recommendations for the Large Cap Growth and Large Cap Value strategies. He was introduced to asset management through experiences at UBS Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group and Ipreo, where he served corporate investor relations professionals. In community, Jock serves on the Finance & Investment Committees for Urban Edge Housing Corporation, Atrius Health Equity Foundation, and YouthBuild Boston. He also serves on the Trustee Board at Bethel AME Church in Jamaica Plain and on the Board of Directors for the Jazz Urbane Community Arts and Transformation Inc. (JUCAT) in Nubian Square. Jock received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Toigo Foundation Fellow and McNulty Leadership Fellow, a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University, and a Certificate from the Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner® (CFP).
